Carol Crawford - Conference Coordinator
One of the things writers need most is other writers. More than 25 years ago, the Blue Ridge Writers’ Conference came about to meet that need. It still invites writers to come out from behind their desks, gather in the mountains, connect, and learn. Carol Crawford has served as program coordinator from the start.
Carol is published in various genres, including essays, poetry, and fiction, in journals such as the Southern Humanities Review, the Chattahoochee Review, the Concho River Review, and the Journal of Kentucky Studies.
As a freelance editor and accredited Author Accelerator Book Coach, she has worked with more than eighty authors of fiction, nonfiction, and children’s literature. Leading workshops and classes for the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, the John C. Campbell Folk School, the Dahlonega Literary Festival, the Red Clay Writers’ Conference, the North Carolina Writers’ Network, and others has given Carol a strong sense of what readers are looking for and the insights and guidance writers need. She is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the North Carolina Writers Network, and the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association. You can reach her at carolcrawfordediting.com.
Originally from Texas, where she graduated from Baylor, Carol lives in the Blue Ridge mountains with her Georgia-born husband, Len. She serves on the boards of the library and Fannin Literacy Action Group, hoards books, needlepoints, and obsesses over Wordle puzzles.
